a tribute to my hometown.

The debut project under ggn is a tribute to my hometown and the inspiration for the studio's name. Gaginang (自家儂) is a term of endearment in the Teochew dialect, translating to "our own people". For the diaspora, it represents a shared identity and a sense of community that persists regardless of geography.

The Fated60 translates this heritage into a physical object. The case is defined by sweeping, organic curves that reference the Han River and the coastal landscape of Chaozhou. The gasket mount system was chosen to complement this aesthetic, offering a fluid typing experience that mirrors the motion of the tides.

The visual anchor of the board is the Pan Chang (Endless Knot). This symbol, with its continuous path, serves as a metaphor for the enduring spirit of community and the interconnectedness of our people. The engraving uses Old Chinese script, honoring the ancient linguistic roots of the region.

The interior of the board contains more personal details: the internal weight features a topographic layout of the Han River and local architecture, while the case interior is engraved with the coordinates of Chaozhou City, the historical birthplace of the Teochew people.

Ultimately, this board is more than a tool; it is a bridge between a storied past and a modern future. It serves as a reminder that while our paths may take us far from home, the connections that define us remain permanent.
